- The gift shop is open at the Crescent Road site only, from 11 – 4 weekends. •
- We are still not open at the Langley Airport site. Plenty of work still to do before we can get an occupancy permit. No confirmed opening date yet. ⚫
- Sale of some of the aircraft in our collection to finance the relocation to Langley continues.
NEW GENERAL MANAGER
Well known local aviation personality “Gogi” Goguillot joined our staff on September 12th as General Manager. Gogi’s wide ranging experience includes having built the first post WWII homebuilt aircraft in the area (a Smith Termite); is a founding director/push of RAAC (Recreational Aircraft Association of Canada – once known as Chapter 85, EAA), and was a partner in Sport Aviation Corporation. Most recently, Gogi was the familiar face at Demel Aircraft, which has now been closed. Gogi has for years been the unofficial person to ask if you wanted to know anything about homebuilts (now officially called Amateur Builts). He and partner Dan MacGowan formed Replica Plans who designed the 7/8 scale SE5a homebuilt. which has been built in numbers all over the world. (The museum has serial # 2 in its collection), We are counting on him to move the museum forward as a cohesive group.
NEW OFFICE MANAGER –
Lorrie Wynja began work Sept 2. She is assuming charge of the office and Gift Shop under the direction of the president, George Proulx. There is lots of work to catch up on, and any office-or gift shop volunteers are urged to give her a hand – at the Crescent Road site. Call Lorrie at 535-1115

VOLUNTEER TIME CARDS
It is very important to the museum to be able to accurately record volunteer hours. Now that we have a home of our own, we will be able apply for funding from several sources. In some cases, funding is based on our being able to provide a share (1/3 to 1/2) of the cost of the project. Volunteer time counts at the rate of $8.00 up per hour towards our share of the funding. Hours are also needed for various statistical reports we must file, so it is important that all volunteers complete volunteer time sheets. There is now a “Volunteer Book” at the Langley hangar as well as one at the office on Crescent Road. Please. Take the time to fill out your time sheet when you come out to work.
NEWSLETTER
The next quarterly full newsletter will be out in due course. We have few responses from readers as to the new format (size, shape), and the new logo. To make it easier for you, please fill out the clip and retum the questionnaire coupon.
JANITOR
Our small paid staff can’t get their work done and do the janitorial work as well. Please, will someone volunteer to sweep, dust and clean the gift shop, and/or the exhibit (indoor and/or outdoor) areas? Phone Lorrie at 535-1115 with your offer.
