NOTICE OF SPECIAL RESOLUTION REQUIRED The costs to bring the hangar and the Atco building up to building code at Langley Airport have been very much higher than anticipated and cannot be fully met from our limited cash reserve. The Museum would like to apply for pre-approval of a $20,000.00 bank loan to tide us over if necessary, until the Museum is open to the public again. The following special resolution will be voted on at the above meeting. Without a member vote, the Museum cannot apply for the loan. If you can’t make the meeting, please complete the Proxy form and mail or Fax it to us as soon as possible. BE IT RESOLVED that the board of directors of the Canadian Museum of Flight and Transportation be authorized to apply for the loan of $20,000.00 from the Richmond Savings Credit Union, to be used to help pay the cost of renovations and improvements to the Langley hangar and Atco building. Repayment to be made from the proceeds of the sale of surplus aircraft and equipment. WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE MUSEUM? • We have received an extension from Surrey to remain on the Crescent Road site until October 31, but only to effect the orderly move off the site. No exhibits available for viewing.

⚫ Currently there is no confirmed opening date at the new site, but we will be open as soon as possible Some of the aircraft in our collection are being sold. This difficult decision was made by the directors as a way of raising money to offset the cost of the relocation to the new site. Not all directors agreed with the choices, but all agreed that selling some of the collection may be the only immediate option available. Duplicates, long term projects, and a few high value items are being offered. ⚫A “Yazoo” golf greens mower, a heavy duty air compressor, a self-contained (Atco) toilet building complete with 500 gallon holding tank are among other items being offered. ⚫ NEWSLETTER An all new newsletter with a full reporting of Museum activities will be mailed in the next few weeks. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Volunteers have always been the Museum’s best resource and with the move to the new location your assistance is more important than ever People with carpentry, plumbing, painting or welding skills; those with no special skills but who are willing to work at odd jobs and to help in the office / gift shop, and help run Bingo one or two Sundays a month are needed. We must find ways to attract more volunteers, or to acquire funds to hire full and part time staff. Keith Retallack is the new volunteer co-ordinator. Leave a message for him at the museum (535-1115) or call him at 526-4969 to offer your help or suggestions. “The reason volunteers are not paid is not because they are worthless, but rather because they are priceless”
