Volunteer Saturday

The Museum has announced ‘Volunteer Saturday’ as a regular feature to accomodate those unable to come on weekdays. This will take place on the third Saturday of each month – upcoming September 17, October 15 etc. We will be tackling all sorts of tasks around the museum ranging from dusting artifacts to restoring airplanes, and everything in between. No matter what your skill level or your abilities, there will be something for you to help us out with.

When the workday is done, we’ll kick back, socialize for a bit and share some well-deserved pizza (cost by donation). Once everyone is settled in and satiated, we’ll then put on an aviation themed movie for anyone who wants to stick around or join us !

August 20 was off to a good start with the Conair Firecat getting a scrub to clean off accumulated green matter that comes with living in a rain forest. The crew scrubbed for a couple of hours before the job was completed. The weather was spectacular for such a mission!

On the west side of the airport the Firecat received attention:

While at the hangar the rest of the collection got some TLC…

…with the Waco INF and the Fleet Finch getting a dust-off.
